The U.S. Patent Office recognized the many features of the SearchAlert on April 12, 2005, with Patent Number US 6,877,345.

The new SearchAlert Combination Lock has been marketed to the traveling public since December, 2003. It features a Security Window which changes color from Green to Red when a Transportation Security Administration Agent at a U.S. Airport opens the lock with an override device to hand search luggage.

The Patented Security Window lets the traveler know that the Luggage has been searched. The SearchAlert Combination Lock is available from Independent Luggage Dealers, Locksmiths and Web Sites: keyword, SearchAlert.
